This app comes in very handy when you are out somewhere and you realize that forgot something in the home computer. Now with TeamViewer you can actually email it to you and access your home computer from anywhere as if you are virtually there near your computer. Though, you will have to have TeamViewer installed on your home computer too.
If you want to be able to wake up or reboot your computer remotely, you will have to give some extra permissions. Which is in fact to make sure no one else get access to your computer without your permission.

iOS 5 Brings 200+ New Features, Copies Android Notification System
Apple introduced iOS5 to the masses today at WWDC 2011 with 200+ new features and some really key changes to iOS. These changes to the iOS are applicable to iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod 3rd and 4th generations, original iPad and iPad 2.
Some of the major changes and/or notable features are as follows:
1. Notification system:
Everyone knows how much iOS notification sucks. With iOS5 Apples brings a better and completely overhauled notification system. But apparently completely copies Android notification system. There is a pull down menu which now shows all your notifications. Pick the one you want to interact or just read them later. All your alerts. All in one place.
2. iMessage:
iMessage is a new messaging service for all iOS5 users from Apple. All iOS5 users can now send and receive unlimited messages using 3G, 4G or Wifi on any of iOS5 devices. iMessage will let you share text, photo, video, location and contacts with other iOS users. It will even allow group messaging.
3. iCloud and Wifi Sync:
With iOS5, Apple finally cuts the cord and allows everything to be in sync with iCloud. Now you don’t need to own a computer to own an iPad, iPhone or iPod. Activate and set up your device right out of the box. One of the other features Android users have been enjoying since its inception. But iOS5 finally brings it to it multi-million user base. You can also sync your iDevices to PC or Mac over a share wifi connection.
4. Newsstand:
Read all about it. All in one place. iOS 5 organizes magazine and newspaper app subscriptions in a folder called - Newsstand. There’s also a new place on the App Store just for newspaper and magazine subscriptions. New purchases go directly to your Newsstand folder. Then, as new issues become available, Newsstand automatically updates them in the background.
5. Reminders:
Reminders lets you organize your to-do list — complete with due dates and locations. This is one of the great feature and not yet available on Android. Say you need to remember to pick up milk during your next grocery trip. Since Reminders can be location based, you’ll get an alert as soon as you pull into the supermarket parking lot. Really useful feature if you remember to keep your to do list up to date.
I am not sure though it is going to select a specific location or the category of location. For example, the milk you can pick up from Meijer, Kroger or Walmart or somewhere else. It will be interesting to see if it recognizes the category of location. Then it will be really awesome.
6. Easier access to Camera app:
iOS5 will provide an option to launch Camera even when the screen is locked so that it is easier to capture those special moments. To take a picture you will be able to use the volume button instead of the soft touch on the screen.
7. Tighter Twitter integration:
iOS5 brings really tight integration with Twitter throughout the OS. Sign in once in Settings, and suddenly you can tweet directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, or Maps. You can even add a location to any tweet, no matter which app you’re tweeting from.
I wonder why it didn’t pick Facebook instead. Facebook integration would have actually made it a really favorable solution for lot of users. As lot of users still don’t use Twitter as their choice of communication medium with friends.
8. Safari Browser Updates:
Safari browser also got some major overhaul which includes tabbed browsing on iPad, Reading list (kind of Instapaper, Read it Later) and some other speed improvements. To learn about all the new features in details please check out this page at Apple.
Among other major updates are text formatting options in Mail application, Split keyboard for iPad, AirPlay mirroring for iPad 2, improvements to Photo editing and many other small updates. I am sure everyone using iDevices will welcome all these changes to their beloved iOS.
iOS5 will be available to all users sometime in this fall and as mentioned earlier will support iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod 3rd and 4th generations, original iPad and iPad 2. 8 Free iPhone Apps you must get before Thanksgiving
Most of you must be planning to grab the early bird specials from your favourite stores. You might be busy creating your own list of Black Friday special deals. But if you are an iPhone user then some apps make it super simple for you to find out the best possible deals - in stores and online.
Other than that Thanksgiving brings lot of family gatherings in which you need to make tasty food with variety. So as they say, “There is an app for that!”
You don’t have to walk from store to store to score the best deal of the day. Rather you can simply visit the store which has the best deal. Does it all sound good? Well then, I have created a list of 8 iPhone app you will need before Thanksgiving.
You can not only use them on Thanksgiving but also any time you are shopping. These apps make sure you save money on whatever you are purchasing.
So without much ado, here are my favorite FREE iPhone Apps specially selected for Thanksgiving and Black Friday:
- SnapTell: With SnapTell on your iPhone, you can take a picture of a Book, DVD, CD and Video game etc. Use that picture to find online prices for that product. Pretty cool when you are in store and not sure if you are getting a best deal. So now with SnapTell you can find that out. Surprisingly, it doesn’t yet work for other products.
- NexTag: Now NexTag grabs where Snaptell leaves. NexTag lets you do comparison shopping for almost everything you get in store. Browse shopping categories from Books, Computers, Electronics, Movies, Software and everything else. Or just use the UPC code from any product you see in store to find out its online price.
- ShopSavvy: ShopSavvy takes it even further. No need for any manual entry or search to find the prices. Just use the app to scan the barcode of any product and get the latest prices online and in stores. Now that is something you will definitely love. Only problem I found with this app is sometimes the app fails to scan anything at all. Probably this is something which should get fixed soon.
- Epicurious: Epicurious helps you find recipes of the food you love. Wanna find out Turkey recipes, stuffing and other Thanksgiving sides, this is the app you will need. This app is really fun to browse as well. Mouth watering images in the app will surely make you feel hungry all the time.
The best thing about this app is if you like a recipe then it lets you create its shopping list for the items required. Pretty cool concept…
- Allrecipes: Select Dish type - Soup, Appetizer, Breakfast, Dinner etc. Ingredient you like - Cheese, Chicken, Fish, Beef etc and how much time you have to cook. AllRecipe will give you the options you have with your selection. It’s an amazing app with cool recipe for everything based on ingredient. Therefore you can create your customized food for Thanksgiving, the way you want it.
Or just use the Features recipe section to see if there is something you fancy.
- Brightkite: Now when you have found the deal in one store, don’t just get stuck there. Find what your friends are buying and chat with them and other people nearby to find out the best deals. You may also post your best deals, pictures and other musings on Twitter and Facebook depending how you set up Brightkite profile.
- Zhiing: Zhiing is probably the only app which helps you share your exact location with your friends without actually writing a word. Open the app, select/enter a contact phone number and add a message if you want before sharing your location. As soon as your recipients open the message from Zhiing, they can get turn by turn directions from their location to yours. How cool is that? Try it out.
If they happen to be an iPhone use with Zhiing, then it become even easier. 
Waze: Now when you have found the address and you don’t have full fledged GPS like Navigon and TomTom, then you may probably use Waze, a community based GPS app. Waze provide you turn by turn directions, traffic and road reports FREE of cost. You will love this app if you don’t want to spend a dime but still want a GPS on your iPhone. Really cool but sometimes you seem to not find addresses and all. But most of the time it works in US.
Now I selected these apps based on what you will need on Thanksgiving and specially on Black Friday. So be ready for the best time of the season for shopping and have fun using these app. Have a good time with your family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Jailbreak hole in iOS 4.1 will be hard to close
I just feel as if apple is getting all the bugs fixed for free using these hackers. Apple releases an OS update and then hackers find a hole to jailbreak it yet again. It’s a free testing….
